As the renovations at Preston Royal in Dallas wind down, color is livening up the center – with two new murals by artist Dan Colcer.

The first is an abstract piece commemorating the historic Preston Royal Theater. Titled “Breeze Block Kilim,” the installation reinterprets the original breeze block pattern design featured behind the theater’s marquee. The second, recently, completed, is his Willie Nelson portrait, near the post office at Preston Royal. The tribute to the Texas icon is an important piece for the artist.

Colcer is Romanian born, but has lived in Dallas since 2008 and has several works on display around the city.
